<itunes:summary>Thousand Suns (Atomic Array 007)
We had a crazy time doing this episode, and especially enjoyed a chance to sit down with James Maliszewski of Rogue Games to learn more about Thousand Suns. It's fitting that we should be featuring one of their games, since Atomic Array kicked off with a Rogue Game. Why is it fitting? This will be our last show, since Rone is dumb and Ed can't handle it anymore...

Note: The above is humor. Blame it on Ed. He's now dumb, too.

Visit Rogue Games: Rogue-Games.net

Maliszewski's Blog: Grognardia
Ed's Pick
Space marines, exploration, slavery and galactic wars - The Fleet has it all. This series of shared-world short fiction features offers from some of speculative fiction's top authors.
Rone's Rant
How does he hate Rone? Listen to him count the ways...
Contests!
We wrap up the New Gods of Mankind and Interface-Zero give-aways, and launch one for Thousand Suns. Don't forget to listen to Atomic Array 006 to learn about the SECRET CODE CONTEST, which expires on October 17th.

There is a lot more to Thousand Suns than we could fit into this one episode. Feel free to ask questions, or leave a comment on the site. You can also share Atomic Array with a friend, or contact us directly. In fact, we'd love to hear what you think about Thousand Suns. Tell us what you like (or don't), and what you'd like to see from Rogue Games in the future.

Gen Con! The best four days in gaming! That, gentle listeners, is an understatement. Indy was a blast this year, and made even more special because it was our first year as podcasters.

Rone spent a lot of time filming the Iron DM competition. You can expect a video of the event some time (before next year), courtesy of Moonstew Productions. He also conducted most of this episode’s interviews, as Ed was helping out at the Green Ronin booth, where he was supporting Kobold Quarterly. Ed also gave two seminars this year - one on advertising and the other on virtual worlds. Both will be available from Pulp Gamer.

We had a chance to chat with Sean Patrick Fannon, from Talisman Studios. Sean gave us the skinny on Suzerain and Shaintar.

Rone got a chance to demo Venus Needs Men a nifty boardgame from Synelix Games. We even grabbed a photo of the happy occasion, for your viewing pleasure.

We love Paizo Publishing, and are big fans of Pathfinder Chronicles. The fact that the PRPG Beta rules grabbed a lot of attention didn’t really surprise us, but we were shocked when all the copies were sold out by the middle of Day Two. To top it off, Paizo brought home a couple ENnies! Rone used his gninja-fu to grab a talk with James Sutter and Wes Schneider. Sneak Attack!

 <itunes:summary>Gen Con Indy 2008 (Atomic Array 004)

He also conducted most of this episode's interviews, as Ed was helping out at the Green Ronin booth, where he was supporting Kobold Quarterly.

The fact that the PRPG Beta rules grabbed a lot of attention didn't really surprise us, but we were shocked when all the copies were sold out by the middle of Day Two. To top it off, Paizo brought home a couple ENnies! Rone used his gninja-fu to grab a talk with James Sutter and Wes Schneider. Sneak Attack!
Contests!
We played the winning prophecy from last episode's contest. The winner grabbed a complete set of Prophecy products, including the core box set, and the Player Manual. $100 in swag!

If your fantasy game sometimes feels like it’s constantly retreading old ground, give Colonial Gothic a read. This historical setting, grounded in colonial America on the eve of the War of Independence, will seem familiar to anyone who has studied the founding of the United States. Colonial Gothic captures the feel of that era, while exploiting the holes in our knowledge to add elements of the supernatural. We especially liked how Rogue Games has used little known historical facts and cultural elements to twist colonial history, bringing out a fantastic feel. With Colonial Gothic, truth truly is stranger than fiction.

It's the 4th of July, and we're celebrating by launching a new podcast about the games we love to play. In this first episode, we speak with Richard Iorio of Rogue Games.
Colonial Gothic
If your fantasy game sometimes feels like it's constantly retreading old ground, give Colonial Gothic a read.
Ed's Pick
Rabble in Arms by Kenneth Roberts. Experience the opening days of the American War of Independence. A great novel and great fodder for your game.
Colonial Gothic: Secrets

The excellent bestiary is backed up by a robust section on secret societies and organizations, such as the Knights Templar and the Freemasons. There is a lot of material in this book, and it is obvious from the start that Rogue Games did their homework. Check out the bibliography for some solid sources for research.
